Not everyone plays on only the biggest poker networks and sites. Some poker players like the chance to be a big player in a small fish pond or like the more personal style of smaller poker sites and networks. Its like if you want to drink a pint at the Wetherspoons or a more real Locals Pub (Starbucks or a local more intimate coffee shop if you are not from England).
The other attractive and +EV things about the smaller networks and poker sites is that the amazingly good poker players and rakeback grinders are not normally playing on them.
Black Friday changed the poker market and the effects are still being felt, seen and they will continue for the next few years. Here is the pokerq4 review of the smaller sites and networks out there.

Something a bit different for the weekend Sir? Small and alternative poker networks and sites review
Everest Poker
Everest Poker at one time were touted as the newest and best next thing by players and those in the industry. It was like they could do no wrong and were held up as a beacon of how to look after players and affiliates. What happened? Full Tilt destroyed them and they never got the tipping point liquidity needed.
Everest Poker is certainly worth playing on to see what its all about. They look after the players and have great promotions. It has just enough cash game players so that you are not only playing against sharks.
Svenska Spel
Svenska Spel are owned by the Swedish State and were massive before all the Scandis started playing elsewhere. Strangely, one of the problems with Svenska Spel is that their cash game rake is only 2.5% compared to the online average of 5%. While this is great for casual players and those who play the old school way of actually trying to win money while playing poker, those that live as rakeback grinders are punished. Its a mad, mad, mad poker world where a site and the Government is punished for being generous and not raping those who play on it.
Svenska Spel software is supplied by Boss Media so that is another issue.
The future for Svenska Spel? It will keep dawdling along unless the country zones for online poker come into effect and players are limited to what sites they can play on.
Cake Poker
They were a rising star but appear to have been a false rising star and more like a comet that appears suddenly and so brightly in the sky then fades. They had a lot going for them at one time, sites and players were joining them like crazy. Again they never quite got the liquidity they needed and also Full Tilt would have taken a lot of players.
Then the problems with the software finally took their toll. It is OK and was decent but never got developed futher. Also, how do you trust a site that denies it has software bugs and issues that everyone knows and experiences? Let them eat cake is what the cake poker network seemed to say and the peasants revolted.
What will happen in the future for cake poker? Who knows! Will they get DOJ’d? Will they find the magic recipe for success or will they be left with crumbs? They have had a crazy ride and no one can predict what will happen to them. Is your bankroll safe with them? Will the DOJ freeze your bankroll or will cake poker go bust?
Cake Poker sites accept American players so the games are much softer than European sites.
Everleaf poker network
Player traffic has slowly gone down over last 6 months which is not a good sign after Black Friday but it has recently started to increase. Rumours from operators and affiliates of non payments were being heard. It is also rumoured that the network, who operated an Italian style credit system, may have incurred a lot of bad debt and sites that will never be able to pay them back.
They may be helped by the fact they are part of a new idea in poker, the multi network poker rooms like 4Donk, where from one poker site you can play 4 or more poker networks. Have they spotted the future of poker and got in at the start and it will save them?
Its a network full of Italian players so well worth giving the mad cash games a look. We suggest, at the moment, you keep your bankroll invested in any site that operates only on this network at a minimum.
Enet poker network
It is full of Italians and crazy action and officially no rakeback from its own skins but you can get official 30% rakeback equivalent from 4Donk (multi network site). Enet is like poker use to be with madness on the tables and players trying to bluff you off your nuts hand. It has to be seen to be believed.
The software is great and it is a network that is going to grow and grow. pokerQ4 can offer you 2 sites, 4Donk with a €500 bonus and rakeback equivalent or AK Poker Club with its 25% rakeback equivalent sign up bonus of €1000.
Here is our Enet poker network review.
