The dotpoker and dotcasino applications for the new gTLDs have been revealed by ICAAN and there are 4 companies bidding and fighting to be the registrar for .poker and also .casino.
One of the companies in each section below should be awarded the right to administer and charge people, companies, poker sites and affiliates to buy domains such as www.rakeback.poker, www.ladbrokes.poker, www.bonus.casino etc. Two companies are bidding for both gTLD, so one company could be controlling both of these domain names if ICAAN go that way.
One of the most popular gTLD (generic Top Level Domain) was for dotapp which had 12 applicants and surprisingly there was only 1 application for dotporn and that was by ICM Registry PN LLC, US and a certain Mr Stuart Lawley.

The application process for being the company (Registrar) that operates and awards the new dotpoker domain is not quick and it is not cheap. But then the rewards could potentially be massive.
To apply to run the new generic dotpoker or dotcasino Top Level Domains would cost an initial application Fee to ICANN of $185,000 and if you are lucky to be chosen then there is the Annual ICANN fee of $25,000. Then you have the costs of setting up your dot poker or dot casino Registrar company and running it.
We will likely have to wait until 2013 to find out who is the new .poker and .casino domain owners and then after that it may take a few months or years to see the full impact on the online poker, casino and gaming industry as a whole because which domains will win – dotcasino, dotpoker or dotcom?
