FairPlayUSA poker educators and Mike Sexton are now the synergetic force behind above board legislation and policymaking when it comes to internet poker. With recent Black Friday events in view it shows great mettle and commitment that Mike Sexton has now joined the FairPlayUSA advisory board. FairPlayUSA, now with the help of Poker Hall of Fame inductee Mike Sexton, aim to educate the public on the ins and outs of online poker laws, defining what it is to break to law by playing poker online. At the moment, with Full Tilt in the limelight, Mike Sexton will have a hard time convincing many people that online poker is lawful, but with Sexton behind the FairPlayUSA team we should expect some developments in the USA online poker market soon. Whether this simply means Mike will be able to straighten out some black holes in online poker regulations or get legitimize online poker in the USA we don’t know, but we do know Mike Sexton is committed to the FairPlayUSA cause.
Recently the Merge poker network decided to try and open its doors to USA players, and we know that sites such at Poker Nordica have not stopped allowing USA poker players access to their site, but with Merge making it official it will be interesting to see how it fares with the Gambling Commission and FBI. FairPlayUSA is headed by Internet safety expert Parry Aftab, who has been instrumental in defining the role FairPlayUSA have in adjudicating and educating on grey areas in online poker law. He is also joined by Homeland Security Governor of Pennsylvania TM Ridge and WSOP winner Greg Raymer on the board.
Mike Sexton as the new face behind FairPlayUSA is an astute move as he has a reputation for integrity both on and off the felt, and with Mike leading the way for better regulated online poker and clearer laws pertaining to internet gambling we should see the debate accelerate and will hopefully have an idea what will happen with online poker in the USA.
