Safe poker sites are a massive player concern and priority at the moment but new independent poker sites and networks are being created all the time. Are they worth the risk of your bankroll? Or is the felt greener on the other site and you can claim your cash land grab before other poker prospectors get in there?
New poker sites and networks have to run fantastic value promotions or give high rakeback/cashback deals to attract vital player liquidity. Sometimes you can really hit the mother lode by taking a bit of a risk. As long as you limit the amount of your bankroll it can be worth the investment of your money and time.
Back in the day those who managed to find out about Mansion Poker were able to reap the rewards with undreamt of value in monstrous tournament overlays. Although it unlikely that we will see its like again there are smaller versions of similar new poker site value that you can find there.
A couple of new sites/networks that have recently launched are the Yachting Poker (B3W poker network) and Betsharks (Atlantis Poker Network). There is also the enetpoker network that while not new was restricted to Italian players and is now newly opened up to the rest of the world (apart from US players).
Betsharks or no poker sharks?
Betsharks (Atlantis Poker Network, software from Cybertech) is promoting itself as ’3D Poker Like Never Before’ which is a great claim but does it live up to it? The graphics are good as they look like a modern computer game. With the slightly worrying choice of carpet it reminds us of one of the original Hitman games. Which would be a great 3D poker site Mod idea where, after suffering a bad beat by idiotic play and not the RNG, you could whip out the old cheese wire …
Betsharks accepts US players so this is very tempting for US players who are now limited to a few poker sites and networks.
Considering that TruePoker have been 3D for years and then came along PKR with all its whistles, bells, chip tricks and table shenanigans – the great looking 3D poker may not be enough of a selling point. How Betsharks and the Atlantis Poker Network develops will be very interesting. At the moment the player liquidity appears to be very low and at the end of the day player liquidity is the be all and end all of making a successful new poker site and network.
Is Betsharks Poker a safe poker site to play on? They are licensed by Caracao Egaming Licensing Authority which, although highly recognised, they are not considered as safe and secure as other jurisdictions. Betsharks apparently have massive financial backing from a family that runs a lot of the Macua Casinos.
The Atlantis Poker Network website is easily the best Poker Network site out there and is worth a few moments to look at and admire what a Poker Network should really look like. As Del Boy would say … Go on my love. feel the fabric, feel the quality of that.
Sail the 7c’s with Yachting Poker
Yachting Poker (B3W poker network) has literally just launched and have been running added money and freeroll tournaments. There is great value to be found with the satellite tournaments, especially as you can unregister and earn $tournament instead. Yachting Poker also give every player 30% rakeback. As it only launched a few days ago there are not many cash game players although a $2/$4 FL Holdem game was observed being played by four players!
The Yachting Poker software is the old Dracula Holdem Poker software, so it is tried and tested, nice and quick. There are a few bugs that are being squashed as its on a new poker network. Shame that the name is not one thing changed, as we have no idea how or why this name was chosen, especially as the url is actually yachting-poker.com!
Is Yachting Poker a safe poker site to play on? All new poker networks/sites are a potential risk and it especially at the moment it is a hard time to be launching. Poker Networks launched years ago have struggled and are struggling so why should the B3W poker network work? They have some serious financial backing, a good team in place and are not dependant on the Poker Network for all their revenue as they make money from other products like Casino. Yachting Poker is also licensed by the Malta LGA so players funds are segregated and therefore should be very safe, even if this new poker network fails you should eventually get your poker bankroll back.
