Some may suggest – with financial, statistical and online poker Consultant type analyses – that the recent Phoenix like rise of 888poker is due to pokery wizardry things . But is it all down to one man? Padraig Parkinson.

There are a few men in the poker world who are very entertaining and Padraig is one of them. With the apparent self destruct poker suicide of Dr Pauly and his was immensely entertaining blog Tao Of Poker the poker world has taken a serious hit.
Jessie May is another legend in the poker writing and entertainment world but his poker blog contributions seem to have slowed down.
But speaking of Jessie May we have a neat Mornington Crescent link back to the hero of this article. Jessie and Padraig are a pair born to know each other and all the better for anyone of us who get to enjoy their commentary. Most of the time the commentators are struggling to make the action exciting but with these 2 who cares about what is happening on the table. The Craic they have makes you remember the good times you can have in life and that it should be happy and lived to the full.
@padraig888 – let him entertain you
Reading Padraig’s blog on 888poker is like being able to watch your favourite Music Hall comedian firing off the rapid one liners like a machine gun and quick fire stories – made to entertain and amuse you. Sometimes to make you think about this strange poker world we inhabit. And if you dont follow @padraig888 on Twitter yet then you need to follow him now.
I think Beckham should be allowed to light the Olympic flame for many reasons especially think how much fun itd be if he fell in

The WSOP is certainly a marvellous place to be. It’s the only place in the world where everyone is smarter than at least 90 per cent of their opponents. I could explain to you how this is possible but its very complicated and you probably wouldn’t understand it anyway. You meet guys here who can think on a level the rest of us can only dream of …
The ONE DROP event was great craic. I think it owes its name to the fact that lots of people got to drop a load of money all in one go. I was watching Day 2 from the rail mainly because I got fed up listening to the commentary on the live stream. I just couldn’t understand how these guys could be so smart and not be in the event.
With nearly weekly blog posts by Padraig Parkinson on 888poker (over 50 posts so far) has any other poker pro given not just value for money but laughs and entertainment for money? Have 888poker realised the value for money they get from him. One bad thing about Padraig’s 888poker blog is that if he comes to write his autobiography we would have read most of the stories and jokes already. But I for one and many others would still buy it.
