Poker Rooms Autumn Migration

This Autumn or at latest Winter should provide the start of the great Poker Room migration. The main migration of the Poker Herd will be from Ongame but are Rooms on other Poker Networks migrating and where are they all going?

The non shock move is bwin to the PartyPoker Network, which will have a massive Ongame impact and especially the non secret secret Ongame2.

Some of the large skins and especially the Sportsbetting sites are considering leaving Ongame. Betsafe have just launched their Poker Black product giving their players access to Microgaming Network. As Betsafe are owned by Betsson this will be available to their players soon. Will Betsafe and Betsson keep a skin on both Microgaming and Ongame or will they eventually leave Ongame and migrate fully to Micrograming?

LadbrokesPoker are rumoured to have had enough of the Microgaming Network, which has been dying before our very eyes for the last few years and is rapidly reaching the danger tipping point of low cash game player liquidity. That point of no natural return that is only saved by an injection of players from a very large poker site joining the network.

The Poker Room Herd seem to be heading to the iPoker/iPoker2 Network with Betfair Poker a very safe bet to be migrating to iPoker2. Although not according to PokerNews who say that this is the one thing they will not be doing. PokerNews will be saying next they are not being bought by PokerStars and that they do write hard hitting investigative controversial poker news articles that criticizing those Poker Rooms and Poker Networks they are affiliated to.

PokerNews article – Could Betfair Poker Be Returning To Their Old Software?

One of the benefits of living and working in the very small city of Gibraltar Gibraltar is that they have a Betfair office. Another benefit of Gibraltar Gibraltar is that if you live in a particular block of Flats you may happen to live above or beside an important Betfair employee. Careless talk may cost lives and it certainly helps poker news sites to write articles and hear the latest Betfair Poker news, views and gossip.

Switch to PartyPoker. No.
Betfair Buy Ongame. No.
Betfair Switch to their old software. No.
The Rep Simply Got It Wrong. No.
Switch to iPoker. Yes. Shame PokerNews say …

Switch to iPoker: I just cannot see this happening at all. The iPoker Network is currently going through big changes in an attempt to bring in recreational players and although Betfair Poker would be able to meet the new requirements with ease, I just cannot see this move happening.

The ‘Betfair Switch to their old software’ is a nice idea and could always be a backup plan but player liquidity is everything nowadays and, from what we hear on the 5th Street, Betfair just don’t have the player numbers, especially after its players have experienced Ongames liquidity.

The cost to Befair Poker in tournament overlays and re starting those amazing rakeback deals – where everyone seemed to be on 60% rakeback or more and lots of poker affiliate players actually cost Betfair money every time they played – means it is not going to happen unless it is the very last option.
