The most common thing you’ll see any live tournament player with, apart from sunglasses and tacky sponsor logos, is a set of headphones. To get you through the boredom of the wait between playable hands, but mainly to blot out the inane poker ‘expertise’ that so many ‘pro’ players want to share, nearly everyone carries some music with them.
In honour of this we’ve created our favourite poker playlist to help and inspire you through to the business end of the next event you play in. Hope you like it and in before “wot, no Ace Of Spades?”.
Purists might prefer the Iggy original but this one has a bit more Raw Power and sets the right tone for the tourney start, get in there and get bluffing and stealing, raising and reraising to build up a decent stack and arm yourself for the battles ahead.
Once you’ve started on this course you Can’t Stop. Even if you’ve taken a hit or two you’ve put yourself out there and rattled your table. So even if it’s going badly and your opponents are on to you they will inevitably take you on at some point when you’ve hit and hit well. On the other hand if you’re doing well keep the pressure up!
Now you’re either nicely chipped up or you’ve been unlucky and not managed to hit as we reach the mid-tournament stage. For both scenarios you can relax for a bit and let the other players knock each other out. Take it Easy until you get some premium hands to unleash upon your opponents. You have no reason to get involved just now, especially if you’re on the short side.
As you near the bubble you need to up the aggression and prey on the weak and vulnerable who are desperately trying to cling on for the money places. In other words hit the Accelerator and take these pussies out!
It’s getting tense now but you’ve survived this far and you’ve made the final table. You’re on the Final Countdown to the winner’s podium and the first placed prize money.
Congratulations! You’ve gone and won! Get a couple of strippers on your lap, sip a white russian or two and sit back and enjoy this ‘definitive’ version of We Are The Champions.
