The Big Game, the non stop 48 hour cash game featuring a lot of famous poker players (as predicted Tom Dwan and Patrik Antonius did not turn up) has now gone Heads Up. And as Jesse May said HaHaHaHa this is Fuckin Crazy Man!
After 35 hours of non stop play, not missing a hand, a blind, mucking a 60k Euro winning hand he was 170,000 Euro up and everyone else had enough of playing and being crushed by Phil Laak. Laak was all on his lonesome before the co-commentator Scott Baumstein decided to take a shot at the monster winners stack. Being a specialist Heads Up player Baumstein must have fancied his chances.
Scott Baumstein sat down with 5k and about 20 hours of watching pokers mythical Unibomber play. Baumstein said to Phil Laak that he could re start with 5k but Laak was having none of it and carried on with his 190,000 Euro stack. Baumstein quickly doubled up to 10k Euro when his 1 pair with flush draw twice beat Laaks 2 pair when they ran it twice.
Scott Baumstein has increased his stack to 12,000 Euro. What will happen? Will Baumstein smelling the opportunity get a huge slice of Laaks pie? Will Laak show why he broke the World Record for longest cash game playing session and why he has beaten The Big Game so far? Will it all end in tears or happiness?
